City of Waynesboro

The Burke County Museum, located in Waynesboro, traces the rural area's history from Loyalist beginnings through the rise and fall of plantation life and the establishment of agribusiness.

According to 2000 Census, the City of Waynesboro had a population of 5,813 persons. Between 1990 and 2000, the city experienced a population increase of 2.5%, compared to the state growth during this period of 26.4%.
