City of Waynesboro

Waynesboro, incorporated on December 10, 1803, is the county seat of Burke County. The city is named in honor of General Anthony "Mad Anthony" Wayne, a famous Revolutionary War soldier.

Historic Waynesboro displays buildings built at the turn of the century, including the county courthouse, churches and 19th century homes.
